  • The detritus of life and death. Not misplaced but totally deconstructed. Fragments float before our eyes and we ask: What? Why? Who?

The painter of questions continues to challenge us to make some sense of this strange image

A booted foot descends from above and a companion foot is a tin or metal cut out. The body is beyond the frame of the painting. A moving figure seems trapped with its metal head grasped by a metal structure.

The single hand floats as the other arm reaches beyond the frame.

Misplaced. Indeed, there is no haven for this person. Any interpretation feels inadequate. We can simply look and be mystified.

    -----------------------------------

Akimbo. The puzzle of the figure?
Who can decipher the image and suspended and floating pieces of the person?

Here is a boot. Here is a leg. Here is a hand. Here head made up of a metal mask affixed to bald skull by a metal bracket and suspended by a rope.

Metal parts are presented as if they serve a purpose and have their place in this collection of pieces.
And it all seems Misplaced as if our human presence is misplaced in the modern world.
    Have we lost our human-ness?
Have we been reduced to broken toys?
Are we playing at the game of life?
