  • When is a Bird not a Bird?
Bak’s Bird is an assemblage of a facade of a house, verdant tree, and the metal fragments of a bird. In that the Bird often represents flight, escape, and freedom this one is stable and immobilized.

Again, placing the collection in nature is an unsettling device.
Clearly this is a figment of the imagination and yet it is painted as if it is real.
The best intentions of all are foiled.
