  • Using the design of the chessboard as a fractured covering of hiding places, the individual chess pieces emerge as the clouds lift on the distant horizon.

    Opaque gouache allows the artist to fashion each piece in some detail, especially the King, the Bishop and the Knight.
    An auspicious gathering of leaders to have survived the conflict.
