  • What does one need to construct a new home? Dreams. Vision. Plans. Or remnants of the houses/homes of our past.

The constructed figure on the right holds the model of a small vacant house. Is this the model of what was and what could be? He has been nailed to the spot along with a second nail that holds the facade of a vacant house.

Embedded within the fragments is the hammer which may be useful in the construction of a new house. Do we fashion our future abode from the pieces of our past residences?

Do these walls speak of this broken and destroyed world?

Bak reminds us, as does the daily news, that destroyed homes and residences abound. Be it Vilna or Kyiv or the shanties of Selma, AL.

How do allow these horrific deeds to continue?

    ----------------------------------------------------

When is a house not a home?
The house man or man constructed as a house holding a house in the midst of a landscape ablaze.
Do we carry our home wherever we wander?
Is this fire scape a place to resettle.

The brilliant flames create a remarkable source of energy.
What should be our housewarming gift?
