On a Road… A very different Road from On the Road by Jack Kerouac 1957. Both, however, reflect the world that the creators were using as a source for their art.
For Bak, the vehicle is an unbelievable Cup on wheels. A submerged cup is in the foreground with another cup on its side and another cup inside it. Finally, a monumental Cup as the base for the Cup of State - as a ship with the ropes of the rigging providing the connections to the leaves as sails.
What a complex assemblage of images and textures!
On a Road that speaks of a world that was and a world that is.
Again with a cup as a container for Told and Foretold, the brilliance of Bak as interpreter and questioner of the human condition.
