  • Looking for shelter from the elements or from the misdeeds of humankind. These surrogates for people are in various states of repair or disrepair.

    Made of porcelain or brick or cinder blocks they each offer different services. One holds a spoon as if the coffee needed stirring, another holds a crude chimney. Another poised on a rickety table or altar. All have survived.

    The shelter looks sturdy if you can access it. The triangle of the yellow star hangs from the roof and its point directs our attention to the main attractions.
