  • My guess is “Playfully” probably has a different meaning to the artist than to most of us.
    The plight of the two pawns. One as a pillar of support and the other winged, precariously on the plank.
    Certainly not child's play!

    Again in the aftermath of the battle as these survivors try to reenter life was not child's play.
    Presently I am reading The Designer and learning of Catherine Dior's survival from Ravensbrook.
    Emaciated and unable to keep down rich food, she had a very slow revival.

    If these pawns are survivors they are certainly better off than most.
