  • What! more hats?
Indeed, as we have been confronted with these images of what a hat or hats purport to mean we have come to believe that each iteration leads us to a realization that a hat creates a persona or a disguise. A hat can help us create another presence and identity.

Of late I have decided to wear a bowler every day. In part it felt well on my aged head, as well as an acceptance of a new identify for those who had never met me.

Often there are strange glances and an occasional response "cool man” I stand just a little taller in my bowler. Clearly Magritte influenced my choice. A monumental head is situated in nature and its elegant hat is suspended as if it is a trapeze. Again, a suspension of our sense of reality is called forth.

This image does exist but is it possible? Another assault on our expectations and our realities. Who would have imagined the slaughter of civilians in the Ukraine?
