  • Really, is the title a question?
Bak poses the question by presenting his most personal image: the bird.
So often it represents his personal journey. From the experience in the Ghetto Vilna of constructing a plane/ bird and dreaming of flying away to the invented birds throughout his entire 9,000 works.

The bas relief and the silhouetted birds are perched or trapped on the rung of a ladder. In the background, a whole Pear and the suggested form of a bottle. A floating question mark with the isolated wheel as its dot. The ancient arch fills the landscape of questions.
