  • [Staged by Xanti Schawinsky the sketch 'Olga-Olga' is the main performance of the stage-class for the Bauhaus carnival show on February 21, 1928. Featuring Manda von Kreibig, Hermann Clemens Röseler, Xanti Schawinsky, Oskar Schlemmer.]

Scheper: For his production 'Olga-Olga' Xanti Schawinsky "designed eight colorful backdrop screens, to be put on stage in changing combinations. ... The action - presented in mime and dance and accompanied by gramophone-music and sometimes by spoken words - uses possiblities of the set ... and creates buoyant activity without any content relevant connections. "People were pleased and said, this was the best ever since and it worked well", writes Schlemmer to his wife on February 22, 1928..."* [209, S. 166]
