TLF: "[While still under the influence of the sudden accidental death of brother Laurence, La Fille d'Artiste was painted.] Into this entirely imagined portrait crept, unknown to me, a whole group of corpse-like images as though carved on tombstones. [Also my son] Conrad, ...without any hint from me discovered the same." [105]
