[Bauhaus stage Dessau, conceived and directed by Oskar Schlemmer. Masked Company (a.k.a. Mask Chorus* or Dinner Party*) has its premiere at an in-house performance of the stage class in July 1928. This dance of c. 10 minutes - Schlemmer (1931) calls it a "meaningless board meeting of a chorus-of-spirits from a shadow-empire" [209, p. 199] - is performed by twelve masked dusky figures along with three puppets.]
Scheper: "Masked Company was developed from experiments with group pantomimes, which ... had their public appearance already in March 1927 as part of the Demonstration of formal Elements for staging." [209, p. 200-201, cf: Figure in Space IV and V, Choral Pantomime]
TLF: "Masked company at table ... [photos] were taken under Oskar Schlemmer's direction" [201]
