TLF 12.8.1985: "... Re. the photo of the 'Meisterhaus' I need to mention that towards 1926 the vegetation has changed a lot. At the time the well known thin prussian pines stood on the surrounding premises like pencils or knitting needles. Their rapid growth, a triumph of industrial forestry, made them the perfect mining timber. My father loved and photographed them a lot, mainly for the wonderful long shadows, which were similar to the hatchings of his pen drawings..."* [204, to G. Gruber]
