    1. Private collection, gelatin silver print, 108 x 82 mm. Verso inscr by the artist: Lux on terrace,Dessau 1927. (this is the mail-order banjo)

  • [The authorship of this photo is uncertain.
    In fact, the artist provided the photo for his autobiography " Zwei Welten" ("Two Worlds"), where it is depicted as a self-portrait [205, p. 83]. However, it is not known that a time release was used as early as 1927].

    TLF: "The attraction [to become a member of the Bauhaus Band] was as strong as it was vague; through many ups and downs ... I had arrived, by 1927, at ownership of a mail-order banjo. Now a teacher was wanted. ... This was Clemens Röseler, who very speedily became my admired friend." [205]
