  • [The authorship of this photo is uncertain.
    In various publications (see below: Literature) this photo is attributed to the artist.
    The print of the Getty Research Institute (4.) is marked: "Foto Lotte Beese", however she is in the photo.
    In particular T. Lux Feininger clearly dissociates himself from the authorship in his letter dated 15. Nov. 2004, to Bauhaus-Archiv Berlin: "The 'collage' with the weavers in the loom has never been given to my attention when the photo was being attributed to me by somebody; and since then all interested parties have copied from each other, without verifying. This may explain my resentment about this repetitive negligence."*]
